Watson is his devoted self and manages to actually be helpful, and the mystery is a solid one, with a gothic feel to it. I loved the original story because of its setting, Watson's lone investigations and the daunting supernatural tone of the antagonist. And then of course, there is the character sketch of Sherlock Holmes itself, for which I have no words to describe. Mortimer, who explains the legend of the supernatural hound who haunts the Baskerville family. Henry disposes all the superstitions and moves to the Baskerville Hall without caring much about his life.
